The Tools to Create Harmony and to Discover What’s Next
Therapy for teens and young adults in Northern California and Nevada
Does this sound familiar?
Harmony Ridge CounselingMaybe you’ve noticed your teen isn’t quite themselves lately. They seem more emotional than usual, crying over small things, shutting down, or reacting intensely to situations that didn’t used to bother them. What once felt manageable now feels overwhelming. Even small disappointments turn into big reactions.
You find yourself wondering:
Is this typical teenage stress?
Is this anxiety?
Could this be depression?
Why does everything feel so heavy for them right now?
You want your teen to feel confident, not constantly doubting themselves. You want them to be able to navigate friendships, school pressure, and life’s adjustments without falling apart. Most of all you want them to have a space where they can talk openly, learn how to handle what they are feeling, and build the tools they need to manage anxiety and low mood in healthy ways.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not overreacting and you’re teen is not doomed.
Anxiety and depression show up during adolescence in ways that look like emotional intensity, withdrawal, irritability, or self-doubt. The good news is that there are skills that can be learned! With the right support, teens can build emotional regulation tools, develop healthier relationships and grow into a stronger sense of confidence and self-understanding.
Things can be different than the way they are today.
I specialize in helping teens and young adults experiencing stress, anxiety and low self esteem by overcoming challenges in regulating their emotions and cultivating healthy relationships and to begin to reach their goals living life authentically.
Maybe you’re in that strange in-between space of early adulthood, technically “grown,” but not quite feeling like one.
You thought by now you’d be feeling more certain. More confident. More sure of who you are and where you’re headed. Instead, you feel behind — like everyone else got some roadmap you missed.
Your anxiety feels louder than ever. You worry about your relationships, your career, your finances and whether you’re making choices you’ll regret. You tell yourself you should have figured it out by now, so you keep pretending you’re fine…. even though inside you’re exhausted.
Maybe college didn’t bring the clarity you hoped for
Maybe staying home feels stunting instead of stabilizing
You don’t know where to go from here. And that uncertainty feels heavy.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken and you’re not behind. This stage of life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to untangle expectations, identity and anxiety all at once.
You deserve a space where you don’t have to pretend. A space to sort through the pressure, the doubt, and the “what now?” AND begin building a path that actually feels like yours.
Specialties
The teenage years come with a lot of change — emotionally, socially and academically. Many teens feel overwhelmed by big emotions, stress at school or challenges with friendships and family relationships.
In therapy, I help teens develop practical tools to manage intense emotions and navigate relationships in healthier ways. Drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, (DBT), our work focuses on building skills that help teens feel more balanced, confident and understood.
Anxiety can make it feel like your mind never really shuts off. You might be juggling school, relationships, expectations from others and the pressure to figure out what comes next — while constantly feeling like you’re falling behind.
In therapy, we will work together to discover what is fueling your anxiety and find practical ways to shift the patterns that keep you stuck in overthinking. The goal is not to eliminate anxiety completely, but to help you feel calmer, more confident and in control of your life.
If you often feel unsure of yourself and second-guessing your decisions, or have a harsh inner critic that never seems to quiet down, it can start to affect every part of your life. You may find yourself holding back, questioning your worth or feeling like you’re never really quite good enough.
In therapy, we’ll explore the thoughts and beliefs that have shaped how you see yourself and gently question whether they’re truly serving you. Together we will work toward building a healthier relationship with yourself, so you can move forward with more clarity and self-trust.
